Join the Civitas Institute of Philosophy as a full-time Philosophy Research Fellow. We seek an innovative scholar to advance research in ethics, epistemology, and the philosophy of mind. As a core member of our research program, you will have opportunities to publish in leading journals, present at international conferences, contribute to grant proposals, and mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers. Responsibility
- Conduct original research in analytic and continental philosophy with emphasis on ethics, epistemology, or philosophy of mind.
- Publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at conferences.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across cognitive science, political theory, and social philosophy.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students; supervise theses and reading courses.
- Develop and lead seminars, workshops, and reading groups; design compelling syllabi.
- Contribute to grant proposals and participate in research funding activities.
- Engage in public philosophy outreach, policy discussions, and non-specialist communications.
Qualification
- PhD in Philosophy or comparable credential by start date.
- Strong publication record or demonstrable potential for high-impact scholarship.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; meticulous attention to argumentation.
- Experience teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels; demonstrated mentorship ability.
- Ability to work independently and in collaborative, interdisciplinary settings.
- Proficiency with rigorous logical reasoning and research methodologies in philosophy.
