Responsibility
- Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in accordance with the national curriculum.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including gifted and high-ability students and those with additional learning needs.
- Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that supports high standards of behaviour and student wellbeing.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of learning and participate in department meetings and professional development.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinationsâpractice papers, revision strategies, and examination technique.
- Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and support at-home learning.
Qualification
- Bachelorâs degree in Mathematics or a closely related field; a PGCE/QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Qualified Teacher Status (UK) or certified teaching credential from your country; ability to obtain within 6 months if currently abroad.
- Relevant teaching experience in a secondary school setting, preferably in Mathematics (GCSE/IGCSE/KS4).
- Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum and GCSE mathematics standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage students and work with parents.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies; completed DBS check or equivalent.
