What you’ll do: You will guide crop management, drive agronomic decision-making, and work with cross-functional teams to implement best practices across multiple parcels.
Responsibility
- Oversee crop health monitoring, scouting, and data collection to track phenology and yield potential.
- Develop and implement irrigation, fertigation, and soil management strategies to maximize water-use efficiency and nutrient use.
- Collaborate with breeding, pest management, and operations teams to optimize variety selection and pest suppression plans.
- Lead field trials, on-farm demonstrations, and compliance with trial protocols and data integrity.
- Analyze soil, tissue, and scouting data; translate results into actionable crop plans and reports for leadership.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, food safety standards, and safety training for field staff.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Agricultural Sciences, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in commercial agriculture or seed production.
- Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with precision agriculture tools (GPS, GIS, drones, sensor data).
- Experience with irrigation systems (drip/sprinkler), fertigation, soil and tissue testing, and nutrient management.
- Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, operate field machinery, and travel between fields as needed.
