GreenField AgriTech is seeking a results-driven Senior Agronomist to lead field trials and drive sustainable farming practices across our crop portfolio. This full-time role blends hands-on agronomy with data-driven decision making to optimize yields, quality, and resource use.
As a key member of our agri-science team, you will collaborate with growers, researchers, and product developers to translate field insights into actionable agronomic recommendations and scalable solutions.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and monitor field trials across multiple crops to evaluate varieties, inputs, and cultural practices.
- Analyze agronomic data (soil, tissue, moisture, pest/disease) to optimize crop nutrition, irrigation, and protection strategies.
- Develop and deliver practical agronomy recommendations to growers and internal teams.
- Lead project management for trials, budgets, timelines, and reporting.
- Collaborate with R&D, product, and extension teams to translate results into scalable solutions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and sustainability standards; document protocols and data.
- Train and mentor junior agronomists and field staff.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of hands-on field agronomy or commercial farming experience.
- Strong knowledge of soil health, crop nutrition, irrigation, pest management, and sensors.
- Experience with data analysis and farm management software; proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python or R is a plus.
- Ability to design and manage field trials; strong statistical understanding (experimental design: RCBD, ANOVA).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills; ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel to field locations; valid driver's license; CPAg or CCA certification is preferred.
