NorthStar Animations Studio is seeking a talented Senior Animator to join our growing team in Vancouver. You will lead high-quality character animation for feature films, series, and commercials, collaborating with directors, riggers, and layout artists to deliver captivating storytelling.

Responsibility
- Deliver high-quality 2D/3D animation for characters and scenes, from layout to final polish.
- Collaborate with directors, storyboard artists, and pipeline team to meet creative vision and technical constraints.
- Mentor junior animators and provide constructive feedback during reviews.
- Plan and organize shot lists, timing, and motion studies to achieve strong storytelling.
- Ensure alignment with established animation style guides and production pipelines.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback, delivering revisions on tight schedules.
- Optimize assets for real-time and render pipelines, maintaining performance and memory budgets.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Animation, Game Art, VFX, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of professional animation experience in film, TV, or games.
- Proficiency with Maya or Blender for 3D animation, and After Effects or Toon Boom for 2D work.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, timing, spacing, and acting principles.
- Excellent portfolio or reel demonstrating character animation and storytelling.
- Experience with rigging, lighting, and shading workflows is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
