Job description
We are seeking a Senior Animator to join our creative team in Los Angeles. You will lead animation pipelines across 2D and 3D projects, mentor junior animators, and collaborate with art directors to deliver compelling visual storytelling.
This role combines technical excellence with creative leadership, requiring a strong portfolio and the ability to communicate ideas clearly across disciplines.
Responsibility
- Lead and execute high quality 2D and 3D animation across multiple projects and platforms
- Develop and refine animation pipelines to optimize efficiency and consistency
- Collaborate with creative directors, designers, and programmers to achieve artistic direction
- Mentor junior animators, provide constructive feedback, and build a cohesive team
- Rig and skin characters as needed and ensure clean deformations
- Review and revise shots to meet project milestones and client expectations
- Maintain asset libraries, documentation, and version control
- Contribute to storyboarding and timing to elevate narrative impact
Qualification
- 5+ years of professional animation experience in 2D and/or 3D with a strong reel
- Proficiency in Maya or Blender and Toon Boom Harmony or After Effects
- Solid understanding of anatomy, timing, and storytelling
- Experience with rigging, skinning, and performance capture workflows
- Ability to work in a fast-paced studio environment and manage multiple shots
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Portfolio demonstrating character animation and scene composition
- BA/BFA in Animation or related field or equivalent professional experience
