BlueHarbor Research & Conservation is seeking a Senior Fisheries Biologist to lead innovative research and stewardship across coastal ecosystems. Responsibility

  • Lead and manage stock assessment projects for key coastal species, including data collection, model development, and interpretation for management decisions.
  • Design and oversee field sampling campaigns, including planning logistics, safety protocols, and quality control.
  • Analyze datasets using R and Python; develop population models and trend analyses to inform sustainable harvest limits.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, Indigenous communities, and industry stakeholders to shape evidence-based fisheries policies.
  • Prepare technical reports, briefing documents, and peer‑reviewed manuscripts; present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and best practices in fishery science, ethics, and data governance.
  • Mentor and supervise junior scientists and field teams; contribute to grant writing and project management.

Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Ecology, or a closely related field; PhD preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in fisheries stock assessment, data analysis, and field methods.
