Northstar Interactive is seeking a Senior Gameplay Programmer to join our Seattle-based studio. You will own core gameplay systems, drive performance, and mentor a growing team.
As a key member of the engineering group, you will collaborate with design, art, and audio to translate creative visions into responsive, polished gameplay experiences across PC and consoles.

Responsibility
- Architect and implement core gameplay systems in C++ and industry engines (Unreal or Unity).
- Collaborate with design, art, and audio to translate concepts into interactive experiences.
- Optimize performance, memory usage, and loading times across platforms.
- Develop robust tooling and pipelines to streamline development.
- Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and uphold best practices.
- Implement AI behaviors, combat mechanics, and animation logic.
- Contribute to system architecture, technical design, and sprint planning.
Qualification
- 5+ years of professional gameplay programming experience on PC/console/mobile titles.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Demonstrated ability to implement AI, physics, animation, and gameplay systems.
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, optimization, and debugging.
- Experience with profiling tools, multi-threading, and platform-specific concerns.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to mentor others.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
