At Nebula Interactive, we craft immersive game worlds with bold, player-first design. We are looking for a Senior Gameplay Programmer with deep Unreal Engine expertise to join our Seattle studio and help lead gameplay feature development across platforms.

In this role, you will collaborate with design, art, and tech leads to architect scalable gameplay systems, optimize performance for PC and console, and mentor engineers across the team.

Responsibility

  • Lead the design and implementation of core gameplay systems in Unreal Engine using C++ and Blueprints.
  • Architect modular, scalable gameplay features aligned with design goals.
  • Optimize performance through profiling, memory management, and refactoring across PC and consoles.
  • Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and maintain a high-quality, maintainable codebase.
  • Collaborate with design, art, and audio to deliver cohesive player experiences and polish.
  • Partner with QA and live service teams to test, debug, and deploy updates with minimal downtime.
  • Contribute to technical direction, tooling, and pipelines to accelerate development cycles.

Qualification

  • 5+ years of professional game development experience with Unreal Engine 4/5.
  • Strong C++ and Blueprint scripting proficiency.
  • Deep knowledge of gameplay systems, AI, animation, and physics integration.
  • Experience optimizing performance for PC and consoles, including profiling tools and memory management.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Portfolio of shipped titles or playable demos; strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
