Job description
Atlas Petroleum Group, a leader in upstream energy solutions, is seeking a Senior Petroleum Engineer to lead reservoir and production optimization efforts across developing and mature assets. This role combines technical depth with leadership, partnering with geoscience, drilling, and facilities teams to maximize oil and gas recovery while ensuring safety, compliance, and cost efficiency.
In this high-impact position, you will analyze reservoir performance, build dynamic models, evaluate EOR strategies, and mentor junior engineers to advance asset performance.
Responsibility
- Lead reservoir engineering activities for multiple assets, including history matching, reserves estimation, and production forecasting.
- Develop and implement optimized development plans (well spacing, infill drilling, artificial lift, and EOR strategies) to maximize recovery and NPV.
- Collaborate with drilling, completions, facilities, and geoscience teams to ensure integrated asset delivery.
- Perform reservoir simulations using industry-standard tools; interpret results to guide decision-making and risk assessment.
- Provide technical leadership in production optimization, pressure management, and well performance analysis.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and procurement for engineering initiatives; track KPIs and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations; champion best practices in integrity management and risk mitigation.
- Mentor and develop engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Bachelorās degree in Petroleum Engineering; Masterās preferred. PE license is a plus.
- 7+ years of upstream oil and gas experience with a strong track record in reservoir engineering and production optimization.
- Proficiency with reservoir simulation and production optimization software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG, Petrel, PRO/II).
- Strong technical skills in history matching, decline curve analysis, well test interpretation, and reserves estimation (SPE guidelines).
- Experience with EOR methods (waterfloods, polymer, CO2) and production optimization strategies.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management abilities; ability to present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel as needed and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
