Job description

TerraCore Energy is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our fossil energy team in Houston, TX. You will lead advanced reservoir characterization, modeling, and optimization for onshore and offshore assets.

In this role, you will collaborate with geoscience, drilling, and facilities teams to maximize recovery, reduce costs, and ensure HSE excellence across the asset lifecycle. You will apply cutting-edge simulation tools and EOR strategies to shape production forecasts and investment decisions.

Responsibility

  • Lead reservoir characterization and dynamic/static modeling for fossil energy assets (onshore and offshore).
  • Design, implement, and optimize production strategies to maximize recovery and asset value.
  • Develop and maintain reservoir simulations using industry tools (CMG, ECLIPSE, Petrel) and integrate with geoscience and facilities data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create accurate forecasts, risk assessments, and investment-grade business cases.
  • Identify opportunities for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and cost reduction while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor field performance, perform decline curve analysis, and update reserves estimates and asset plans.
  • Mentor junior engineers, lead technical reviews, and contribute to corporate knowledge sharing and best practices.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 8+ years of reservoir engineering experience in fossil energy with onshore/offshore exposure.
  • Proficient in reservoir simulation and data analytics; experience with CMG, Eclipse, Petrel, and related tools.
  • Strong knowledge of EOR methods (waterflood, polymer, CO2) and mature field optimization.
  • Experience with reserves estimation, decline curve analysis, P&C modeling, and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project leadership skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; commitment to HSE and regulatory compliance.
