Join BlueHarbor Logistics, a leader in global freight forwarding and supply chain solutions, based in Savannah, GA. Weâre seeking a proactive Shipping Operations Specialist to orchestrate efficient cargo movement from origin to destination while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost efficiency.

Responsibility
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments, from booking to delivery, ensuring on-time performance.
- Negotiate rates and terms with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PL partners to optimize total landed costs.
- Prepare and verify import/export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, B/L/BLs, certificates of origin) and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Monitor shipment status in real-time, identify exceptions, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage carrier relationship data, carrier scorecards, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborate with warehousing, customs brokers, and operations to optimize routing, consolidation, and transshipment.
- Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for transit times, cost per shipment, and fill rates; lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in audits and process documentation to drive efficiency and risk mitigation.
Qualification
- Bachelorâs degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or equivalent experience; 2+ years in shipping operations or freight forwarding.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs clearance, and trade regulations.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Oracle NetSuite) and freight management tools.
- Excellent data analysis and Excel skills; ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; comfortable collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to root-cause analysis and process improvement.
- Relevant certifications (CSCP, FIATA, or CIFFA) are a plus.
