The Farm Manager at Pilmico Foods Corporation leads the breeder and nursery swine operations with a clear focus on production excellence, animal welfare, and sustainable farming practices. This Stay-In Setup role places you on-site to drive day-to-day management, coordinate breeding programs and nursery schedules, optimize feed planning, and uphold rigorous biosecurity standards. You will translate strategic goals into actionable farm plans, monitor performance metrics, and ensure the highest quality stock for Pilmico's pork production lines.
Reporting to the Farm Operations Director, you will supervise farm teams, develop and enforce standard operating procedures, and coordinate with veterinary services, procurement, and quality assurance. Your responsibilities include optimizing growth rates, improving feed conversion, reducing mortality, and maintaining clean, safe, and compliant facilities. You will analyze data, forecast needs, manage inventories, and implement continuous improvement initiatives, while fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability across the stay-in community.

Responsibility
- Oversee daily operations of breeder and nursery swine facilities to meet production targets while maintaining animal welfare, biosecurity, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement breeding programs, farrowing schedules, and wean-to-market timelines to optimize growth and profitability.
- Manage on-site staff, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to build a capable, proactive team.
- Monitor environmental controls, feed quality, vaccination protocols, health monitoring, and welfare standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to sanitation, biosecurity, record-keeping, and reporting requirements; coordinate with veterinary services.
- Optimize resource utilization, budgeting, and cost control without compromising animal well-being or product quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing performance data, implementing SOPs, and benchmarking against industry best practices.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in swine production, breeding, and nursery management; minimum 3-5 years.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills; ability to lead on-site teams in a stay-in environment.
- Knowledge of animal welfare, biosecurity, vaccination programs, and farm safety regulations.
- Data-driven decision-making, ability to monitor KPIs, forecast demand, and manage budgets.
- Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams (veterinary, procurement, QA).
- Willingness to live on-site as part of the Stay-In Setup; adaptability and problem-solving skills.
