GlobalGood Volunteer Center is seeking a motivated Volunteer Programs Assistant to join our mission-driven team in San Francisco. This part-time role supports planning, outreach, and delivery of high-impact volunteer experiences across community programs. You will collaborate with nonprofit partners, coordinate onboarding, and help volunteers grow their impact while ensuring a welcoming, organized environment for all participants. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about civic engagement, program administration, and social impact to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced nonprofit setting.
As a key member of our Programs team, you will help shape the volunteer experience from recruitment through project completion, ensuring volunteers receive meaningful assignments, clear guidance, and appropriate recognition. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working with diverse communities, partners, and stakeholders.
What you will do is contribute to a smooth, participant-focused volunteer program that amplifies community impact and strengthens our partnerships.
Responsibility
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment campaigns and outreach activities to attract diverse participants.
- Manage volunteer onboarding, orientation sessions, and role assignments to ensure clear expectations.
- Schedule volunteers for program activities, events, and partner projects while maintaining conflict-free calendars.
- Support partner organizations with event logistics, materials, and on-site coordination during volunteer sessions.
- Maintain and update the volunteer management system (CRM) and volunteer records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Track program metrics, report on outcomes, and suggest improvements to enhance volunteer impact.
- Provide ongoing support and recognition to volunteers to promote retention and engagement.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to share stories and impact updates with the community.
Qualification
- Strong passion for community service and nonprofit work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to groups.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Prior experience coordinating volunteers or events is preferred.
- Proficient in using CRM systems or spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel/Google Sheets).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends, as needed.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work with diverse populations and partners.
- Self-starter with problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
