Cartrack is expanding its field service team in Batam, Kepulauan Riau and is seeking an Automotive Technician to install and maintain GPS tracking devices for fleets across the region. This role is ideal for graduates of SMK Otomotif or Elektronika and offers dynamic mobile work at customer sites. As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for end to end installation, wiring, configuration and testing of GPS devices, telematics sensors, and related hardware. You will ensure robust performance, accurate data reporting, and seamless integration with our software platforms. Responsibility
- Install GPS tracking devices and related hardware in a variety of vehicles, ensuring secure mounting and reliable power connections.
- Program, calibrate, and diagnose telematics devices; verify data transmission and device performance.
- Perform routine maintenance, firmware updates, and troubleshooting of device faults at customer sites.
- Interpret wiring diagrams and vehicle electrical schematics; comply with safety and quality standards during installation.
- Conduct on-site testing and commissioning, validate GPS signal, SIM activation, and data reporting; document results.
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient mobile service visits and manage inventory of parts and tools.
- Provide basic training to customers on device operation and software interfaces; deliver friendly, professional service.
- Maintain detailed service reports and client records, following company policies and data privacy guidelines.
Qualification
- Diploma or vocational training in automotive engineering or electronics; SMK Otomotif or Elektronika preferred.
- Hands-on experience with automotive electrical systems, wiring, and device installation is a plus; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Knowledge of GPS tracking technology, telematics platforms, and basic diagnostics.
- Ability to work independently in the field with strong planning, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel to client sites within Batam and nearby areas.
- Good communication skills in Indonesian and basic English; customer-facing abilities are valued.
