Job description

NovaLens Media is seeking a driven Content Curation Specialist to join our growing team in New York City. You will curate high-quality content across categories, design and manage editorial taxonomy, and partner with product and marketing to optimize discovery and engagement.

In this role, you will apply a user-first approach to select and organize content, maintain quality standards, and contribute to content strategy and taxonomy development. You will also monitor performance, generate insights, and help scale our content programs across channels.

Responsibility

  • Curate and organize content across multiple categories to align with editorial strategy and audience interests.
  • Develop and maintain a scalable taxonomy and tagging system to improve searchability and relevance.
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and data teams to plan content roadmaps and editorial calendars.
  • Evaluate content quality, accuracy, and freshness; make recommendations for updates and retirement as needed.
  • Monitor performance metrics (engagement, retention, click-through rates) and generate actionable insights.
  • Publish and maintain content in the CMS; ensure accessibility and compliance with standards.
  • Repurpose content into playlists, collections, and featured experiences to boost engagement.
  • Mentor junior editors and contribute to best practices and process improvements.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Library Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-4 years of experience in content curation, editorial planning, or taxonomy design.
  • Strong understanding of content strategy, user experience, and SEO fundamentals.
  • Proficiency with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Contentful) and basic HTML/CSS for formatting.
  • Experience with data analysis and using metrics to inform decisions (Google Analytics, internal dashboards).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and editorial judgment.
