We are seeking a result-driven Curation Specialist to join our growing content team in Seattle. You will shape editorial strategy, assemble high-quality material, and curate engaging experiences for diverse audiences. This role blends research rigor with creative storytelling to ensure content discovery aligns with brand voice and reader intent.
As a key member of our editorial operations, you will collaborate with editors, product teams, and creators to optimize discovery, taxonomy, and metadata for maximum reach and impact.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement data-informed content curation strategies across platforms to drive engagement and retention.
- Identify emerging topics and trends using analytics, social listening, and SEO signals.
- Source, evaluate, and curate high-quality content aligned with audience personas and editorial guidelines.
- Collaborate with editors and product teams to define taxonomy, tagging, and metadata standards.
- Manage CMS workflows for batching, publishing, and updating curated lists.
- Establish QA processes to ensure accuracy, attribution, and licensing compliance.
- Analyze performance metrics and iterate on curation approach to improve KPIs like session duration and CTR.
- Build partnerships with creators and external publishers to expand content sourcing.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Library Science, Information Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of content curation, editorial, or information management experience.
- Strong research and data-analysis skills; proficient with analytics tools and SEO best practices.
- Experience with content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, Contentful) and metadata standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong editorial judgment and brand alignment.
- Ability to organize and categorize large volumes of content with taxonomy and tagging.
- Familiarity with licensing, attribution, and compliance considerations.
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
