Curio Media is seeking a results-oriented Curation Specialist to lead editorial selection across our growing platform. You will shape the content mix, surface high-quality stories, and partner with editors, product, and creators to deliver a delightful reader experience.
In this role, you will combine data-driven insights with a refined eye for taste to curate features, categories, and recommendations that drive engagement and retention. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced media environment and can balance creative judgment with rigorous evaluation of performance metrics.
Responsibility
- Define and execute the platform's content curation strategy across categories and channels.
- Review, select, and organize content from internal and external sources to ensure relevance and quality.
- Collaborate with editors, product, and marketing to implement editorial calendars and product features.
- Leverage data analytics to monitor performance and iterate on curation choices.
- Build and maintain taxonomy, tagging, and metadata standards for discoverability and SEO.
- Champion accessibility and diverse representation in featured content.
- Coach junior curators and maintain strong vendor relationships for timely curation.
- Prepare reports on audience impact and recommendations for optimization.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in content, media, or curation.
- 3+ years of experience in content curation, editorial, or product discovery roles.
- Strong editorial judgment and ability to identify quality content and narrative potential.
- Proficiency with content management systems and basic SQL or data analysis tools.
- Experience with SEO, tagging, taxonomies, and metadata planning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functional with editors, engineers, and marketers in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in diverse voices and inclusive content practices.
