As a key member of our team you will design and lead technique classes, develop original choreography for stage and screen, prepare company rehearsals, and coach dancers for auditions and performances. You will collaborate with artistic leadership to devise season programming and outreach initiatives that engage our community.
Responsibility
- Lead and choreograph daily technique classes for diverse level ranges.
- Design original works and staging for company performances and community events.
- Coach dancers for auditions, competitions, and touring productions.
- Collaborate with artistic leadership on season planning and repertoire development.
- Oversee conditioning, injury prevention, and safe movement practices.
- Mentor emerging dancers and contribute to workshop programs.
- Coordinate rehearsal schedules, music cues, and technical integration with production team.
- Represent the studio in community outreach and partnership initiatives.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in dance or related field; professional performance and teaching experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of contemporary or allied dance training with proven choreography credits.
- Strong knowledge of multiple dance styles including ballet, contemporary, and hip hop.
- Proven ability to teach, mentor, and inspire dancers across ages and levels.
- Excellent musicality, storytelling, and cueing skills; ability to count rhythms precisely.
- Experience leading rehearsals, staging, and collaboration with production teams.
- Resilience, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset in a fast-paced company setting.
- Willingness to travel for performances and festivals if required.
