REX Education is seeking a motivated Editorial Specialist (Fresh Graduate) to join our editorial operations in Quezon City. In this entry-level role, you will be responsible for copyediting, proofreading, and final reading of all assigned manuscripts, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency across educational materials used in our programs and publications. You will help transform raw drafts into polished content that informs, engages, and educates learners.
As a member of our editorial team, you will work closely with authors, subject matter experts, and QA colleagues to refine content to meet house style guides and publishing standards. You will gain hands-on experience with the full editorial workflow, from early edits and fact-checking to final delivery and metadata entry, while collaborating across editors, designers, and curriculum teams. Responsibility
- Perform copyediting and proofreading of manuscripts, ensuring grammar, punctuation, and style adherence to house guidelines.
- Conduct line editing for clarity, flow, and consistency across content sections.
- Verify references, citations, and bibliographic details in line with publishing standards.
- Collaborate with authors, subject matter experts, and QA teams to address feedback and finalize manuscripts.
- Prepare final deliverables for publication, including formatting and metadata entry.
- Track editorial progress, manage deadlines, and maintain organized project records.
- Assist in developing and updating style guides, templates, and checklists to improve efficiency.
- Support quality assurance through final read-through and error flagging before release.
Qualification
- Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant editing experience.
- Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and style conventions.
- Familiarity with editorial workflows, copyediting, and proofreading processes.
- Detail-oriented with an eye for consistency and accuracy.
- Proficient in MS Word and Google Docs; experience with CMS or publishing tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Education, or a related field.
