OceanBridge Navigation Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Maritime Navigation Specialist to join our Singapore hub. You will oversee voyage planning, real-time navigation, and safety compliance for assets across regional waters. This role blends advanced navigational systems, regulatory knowledge, and operational excellence.
As part of our dynamic team, you will collaborate with port authorities, fleet managers, and offshore operations to optimize routes, ensure timely arrivals, and mitigate risk. The ideal candidate is proficient with ECDIS, ARPA, AIS, weather routing, and maritime safety protocols.
Responsibility
- Lead voyage planning and route optimization using ECDIS, ARPA, and AIS tools to ensure safe and efficient vessel movements.
- Monitor real-time navigation data, weather forecasts, and AIS alerts; adjust strategies to avoid hazards.
- Collaborate with captains, port authorities, and fleet managers to coordinate arrivals, departures, and traffic separation schemes.
- Maintain and audit navigational documentation, including voyage plans, risk assessments, and bridge procedures.
- Ensure compliance with SOLAS, COLREGs, and local maritime regulations; oversee safety drills and incident reporting.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior navigational officers and support staff on navigation best practices and software.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field; professional certifications in navigation (e.g., Master Mariner or ECDIS navigator).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on navigation experience on commercial vessels or marine operations.
- Proficiency with ECDIS, ARPA, AIS, radar, and weather routing software.
- Strong knowledge of COLREGs, SOLAS, port state control, and maritime safety procedures.
- Excellent situational awareness, decision-making, and communication skills; ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to travel for port calls and training; fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
