Responsibility

  • Lead design and execution of field campaigns, coordinating vessel time, sensors, and sampling strategies.
  • Collect, quality-check, and analyze physical, chemical, and biological oceanographic data using MATLAB, Python, and R.
  • Develop and maintain data processing pipelines, including QC/QA, calibration, and metadata documentation.
  • Apply statistical methods and numerical models to interpret ocean dynamics and ecosystem responses.

  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to deploy autonomous platforms and sensor networks.

Qualification

  • MS or PhD in Oceanography, Marine Science, or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on field experience with oceanographic instruments and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and R; experience with netCDF, GIS, and HPC environments.
  • Strong statistical skills and experience with data assimilation, modeling, or remote sensing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; track record of publications and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams; willingness to travel for field work.
