As a Patrol Officer, you will uphold the law, respond to incidents, conduct investigations, and collaborate with residents, businesses, and partner agencies to create safer neighborhoods. You will engage in community outreach, crime prevention programs, and ongoing professional development.
Responsibility
- Patrol assigned beats to deter crime and ensure public safety
- Respond to calls for service quickly and professionally
- Conduct initial investigations, collect evidence, and document findings
- Engage with community members to build trust and address concerns
- Perform traffic enforcement and accident investigations as needed
- Prepare clear reports and maintain accurate records
- Partner with other agencies during operations and special events
- Maintain fitness and participate in ongoing training and certification
Qualification
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
- Minimum high school diploma or GED; higher education preferred
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background checks, medical exam, and physical fitness tests
- Strong communication, ethics, and decision-making skills
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Possess or be eligible to obtain police officer certification; completion of basic academy preferred
- Commitment to de-escalation and community-focused policing
