Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Mathematician to join our research-driven team in New York, NY. This role combines deep mathematical theory with applied computation to build robust models used in finance, technology, and data science.
Responsibilities include translating complex problems into mathematical formulations, implementing efficient algorithms, and communicating findings to stakeholders. You will work alongside engineers, data scientists, and researchers to advance innovative projects.
Location: New York City, NY. Hybrid work arrangements may be considered for exceptional candidates.
Responsibility
- Lead development of mathematical models for real-world problems across multiple domains
- Formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and validate models with data
- Implement algorithms with performance and numerical stability in mind
- Collaborate with software engineers to deploy models into production systems
- Conduct numerical analysis, error estimation, and sensitivity analysis
- Present results to non-technical stakeholders and publish findings when appropriate
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to internal knowledge base
- Develop reproducible research pipelines and document methods thoroughly
Qualification
- PhD or Master's in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong background in linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics
- Proficiency in Python, R, MATLAB; experience with Julia is a plus
- Experience with numerical methods, optimization, and machine learning
- Ability to translate theory into practical solutions and communicate results effectively
- 3+ years of research or industry experience
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and presentation skills
- Publications or patents are a plus
