Job description

NovaChem Solutions is seeking a results-driven Senior Chemist to lead innovative projects in synthesis, catalysis, and analytical characterization. This role blends hands-on laboratory work with project leadership in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

As a critical member of our R&D team, you will design and optimize synthetic routes, evaluate novel materials, and contribute to process development from lab bench to pilot scale. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibility

  • Lead execution of complex synthetic experiments and scale-up from lab to pilot scale.
  • Design and optimize reaction conditions, purification strategies, and analytical methods (NMR, GC-MS, HPLC).
  • Develop and validate new materials or formulations with quality and safety considerations.
  • Collaborate with R&D, QA/QC, and manufacturing to meet project milestones.
  • Mentor and train junior chemists; contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Document procedures, maintain accurate lab notebooks, and prepare technical reports.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements (GLP/GMP as applicable).
  • Present findings to stakeholders and contribute to patent/publication efforts.

Qualification

  • PhD or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; 3+ years of industry experience for MS or a PhD with relevant experience.
  • Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry; experience with catalysis and reaction optimization.
  • Proficiency with analytical techniques (NMR, GC-MS, LC-MS, HPLC, FTIR).
  • Experience in process development, scale-up, and DOE/Quality by Design methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, data analysis, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment and lead research projects.
  • Familiarity with GLP/GMP and regulatory documentation is a plus.
