Job description

Join NebulaForge Studios as a Senior Gameplay Programmer and help craft immersive, responsive gameplay experiences for our next generation titles. You will collaborate with designers, artists, and engineers to implement core mechanics, systems, and tooling across PC and console platforms. You will own key subsystems, drive technical decisions, and mentor teammates to deliver high quality, performant gameplay.

Responsibility

  • Lead design and implementation of core gameplay systems in Unreal Engine, including character movement, combat, animation, and interaction mechanics.
  • Collaborate with design and art to prototype, refine, and ship features while maintaining code quality and performance.
  • Build reusable gameplay components, tools, and editors to empower designers and reduce iteration time.
  • Optimize CPU GPU performance, memory usage, and frame rate across PC and console targets; profile and address regressions.
  • Implement robust networking and client-server architecture for multiplayer experiences; ensure replication and prediction are solid.
  • Mentor and review code for junior engineers; contribute to architecture decisions and technical direction.
  • Drive quality through automated tests, profiling, and performance budgets; participate in meaningful code reviews.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of professional game development experience with Unreal Engine 4.x or 5.x.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and Unreal Blueprints; shader experience a plus.
  • Deep understanding of gameplay programming, AI, animation systems, physics, and networking.
  • Proven track record shipping at least one PC/console title; experience with platform-specific workflows.
  • Excellent debugging profiling and optimization skills; familiarity with Unreal Insights RenderDoc and Visual Studio diagnostics.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to mentor teammates and work cross-functionally.
