Responsibility
- Consult with clients to understand goals and provide personalized recommendations for cuts, color, and styling.
- Perform precision haircuts, advanced color work (balayage, foils, toning), and styling to achieve client objectives.
- Maintain impeccable sanitation, tool sanitization, and equipment upkeep following safety standards.
- Build and retain a loyal client base; manage appointment flow and minimize wait times.
- Recommend and upsell services and retail products aligned with client needs and goals.
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and brand protocols; participate in ongoing education.
- Collaborate with peers, mentor junior stylists, and contribute to a positive, inclusive salon culture.
Qualification
- Cosmetology license for New York (or eligibility to obtain); in good standing.
- Minimum 2 years of professional salon experience with strong client-facing skills.
- Proficiency in cutting, styling, and color techniques including balayage and foil highlights.
- Excellent communication, consultation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong time management, multitasking, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of hair care products, tools, and sanitation standards; commitment to safety.
- A portfolio demonstrating versatility, creativity, and problem-solving in styling.
