Arcadia Industrial Group is seeking a results‑driven Senior Industrial Relations Specialist to lead strategic labor relations initiatives across our Midwest manufacturing footprint. You will partner with HR, Legal, and Operations to create fair, compliant, and productive workplace practices.
As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will shape policy, manage complex grievances, and drive continuous improvement in employee relations, safety culture, and performance aligned with our business objectives.
Location: On-site in Chicago, IL with occasional travel to regional sites.
Responsibility
- Lead and manage collective bargaining negotiations, terms, and settlements in collaboration with Legal and HR.
- Develop and implement comprehensive industrial relations strategies, policies, and programs that align with business goals and legal requirements.
- Advise senior leadership on union relationships, grievances, discipline, and dispute resolution with a focus on risk mitigation.
- Oversee grievance procedures, investigations, disciplinary actions, and disciplinary documentation in compliance with policies and laws.
- Analyze labor relations metrics, prepare leadership reports, and drive data-driven improvements in engagement and productivity.
- Coordinate with safety, HR, and operations to ensure wage, scheduling, and attendance practices comply with agreements and regulations.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with unions, employee representatives, and management to foster trust and effective collaboration.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Labor Relations, Law, Business, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive industrial relations experience in manufacturing or multi-site operations.
- Deep knowledge of federal and state labor laws, regulatory frameworks, and union processes.
- Proven track record leading collective bargaining agreements and complex grievance handling.
- Strong negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills with ability to influence at all levels.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in IR metrics, HRIS, and policy analytics.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to operate with discretion and integrity.
- Eligibility to work in the United States; willingness to travel as required.
