NovaStat Analytics is seeking a highly skilled Senior Statistician to join our growing analytics team in New York City. This role focuses on designing experiments, building predictive models, and delivering insights that drive strategic decisions across industries including healthcare, finance, and technology.
As a Senior Statistician, you will partner with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable recommendations. You will own study design, analysis plans, model evaluation, and the communication of results to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibility
- Design and lead statistical analyses for randomized trials, observational studies, and quasi-experiments.
- Develop and validate predictive and inferential models for business impact.
- Collaborate with data engineers, scientists, and stakeholders to define questions, metrics, and success criteria.
- Ensure reproducible analyses with clean code, version control, and documented workflows.
- Communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences through clear visuals and storytelling.
- Mentor junior statisticians and analysts, fostering a culture of rigorous methodological practice.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and ethical guidelines across projects.
- Manage multiple analytics projects, timelines, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality insights.
Qualification
- Masterβs or PhD in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of professional statistical analysis experience in industry or academia.
- Proficiency in R and Python; experience with SAS, STATA, or similar tools is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of experimental design, hypothesis testing, regression, survival analysis, and multivariate methods.
- Experience with data visualization and communicating results to diverse audiences (ggplot2, seaborn, Tableau, etc.).
- SQL and data wrangling skills; ability to work with large datasets and data warehouses.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work on tight timelines.
