Job description
We are seeking a Senior Statistician to join our fast-growing analytics team in Boston. You will design experiments, analyze complex datasets, and translate statistical insights into strategic recommendations for business decisions. This role emphasizes rigorous methodology, reproducible research, and collaborative cross-functional work with product, engineering, and research teams.
As a key contributor, you will drive statistical rigor across projects, ensure data quality, and help shape the analytical roadmap with innovative approaches to measurement and inference.
Responsibility
- Design and execute statistical analyses, experiments, and simulations to support product and policy decisions.
- Develop and validate predictive models, including A/B testing and survey design.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality and reproducibility of analyses.
- Interpret results for non-technical stakeholders and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Document methodologies, create reproducible research workflows, and maintain code quality.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team best practices.
- Communicate uncertainty and limitations transparently and ensure ethical data use.
Qualification
- Masterβs or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of practical statistics, data analysis, or modeling experience in industry.
- Strong proficiency in R and/or Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn).
- Experience with experimental design, causal inference, and hypothesis testing.
- Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Excellent communication and ability to explain complex results to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with Bayesian methods and machine learning basics is a plus.
