NovaQuant Analytics is seeking a Senior Statistician to join our growing data science team in New York City. You will leverage advanced statistical methods to drive business insights across healthcare, finance, and e-commerce clients. This role blends rigorous statistical modeling with practical data storytelling.
In this role you will design, validate, and deploy models that inform strategy, forecast outcomes, and optimize performance. You will partner with data engineers, product managers, and business leaders to translate complex results into actionable recommendations.
Responsibility
- Develop and validate predictive and causal models to support business goals and strategic decision-making.
- Design, analyze, and interpret A/B tests and experiments with rigorous statistical rigor.
- Collaborate with data engineering to deploy scalable models and ensure data quality and reproducibility.
- Communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders through clear reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Mentor junior statisticians and contribute to your team's best practices and code quality.
- Assess risk, uncertainty, and sensitivity analyses to inform decision-making.
- Stay current with methodological advances and apply them to client projects across industries.
Qualification
- Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field; equivalent practical experience considered.
- 5+ years of professional experience in statistical modeling, data analysis, and experimental design.
- Proficiency in R and Python; strong SQL skills; experience with tidyverse, statsmodels, scikit-learn, and related libraries.
- Experience with time series, Bayesian methods, causal inference, and multivariate analysis.
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex analyses into actionable business insights.
- Experience creating data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or Python visualization tools.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
- Publication record or demonstrable project portfolio is a plus.
