Job description
Beacon Analytics Group is hiring a Senior Statistician to lead statistical modeling initiatives and guide cross-functional teams in translating data into actionable business insights. This is a full-time role based in Boston, MA with a strong focus on impact and collaboration.
You will partner with product, marketing, and operations teams to design rigorous analyses, build robust models, and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibility
- Lead development of advanced statistical models (regression, time-series, mixed effects) to answer high-impact business questions.
- Design and execute experiments and observational studies ensuring validity and reproducibility.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality, integrity, and scalable analytics pipelines.
- Translate complex analyses into clear recommendations and actionable dashboards for leadership.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to statistical best practices and documentation.
- Present methodological findings to cross-functional teams and influence data-driven decisions.
- Stay current with statistical methods, tools, and industry trends to drive innovation.
Qualification
- Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a closely related field; PhD preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on statistical modeling and analytics experience in a business environment.
- Proficiency in R and Python; strong SQL skills; experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Deep knowledge of experimental design, hypothesis testing, regression, time-series, and Bayesian methods.
- Ability to explain complex statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executives.
- Track record of delivering actionable insights that drive business outcomes; publications or conference presentations are a plus.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
