Responsibility

  • Develop and execute transportation strategies to optimize cost, service, and reliability across all lanes.
  • Lead daily transportation planning, dispatch, and load optimization using TMS and data analytics.
  • Manage relationships with third-party carriers, brokers, and regional suppliers to secure capacity and performance standards.
  • Monitor KPIs (OTIF, on-time delivery, fuel efficiency, cost per mile) and implement improvement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements; drive incident root-cause analysis.
  • Lead a team of dispatchers and planners; mentor and develop staff; recruit as needed.
  • Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and customer service to align network design with customer requirements.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives and leverage data to drive cost-to-serve reductions.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in transportation management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Proven experience with TMS, WMS, ERP systems; strong data analytics skills (Excel, SQL, or BI tools).
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize routes, carrier contract negotiation, and capacity planning.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills; ability to coach and develop team.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance (FMCSA, DOT) and environmental considerations.
