Join PacificGrid Logistics as a Transportation Operations Manager in Seattle, WA. You will lead end-to-end transportation planning, carrier relationships, and performance optimization for a multi-modal network. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for a data-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment.
In this role, you will drive safety, efficiency, and cost-to-serve improvements across all transportation lanes, partnering with cross-functional teams to exceed customer expectations.
Responsibility
- Develop and execute transportation strategies to optimize cost, service, and reliability across all lanes.
- Lead daily transportation planning, dispatch, and load optimization using TMS and data analytics.
- Manage relationships with third-party carriers, brokers, and regional suppliers to secure capacity and performance standards.
- Monitor KPIs (OTIF, on-time delivery, fuel efficiency, cost per mile) and implement improvement plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements; drive incident root-cause analysis.
- Lead a team of dispatchers and planners; mentor and develop staff; recruit as needed.
- Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and customer service to align network design with customer requirements.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and leverage data to drive cost-to-serve reductions.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in transportation management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Proven experience with TMS, WMS, ERP systems; strong data analytics skills (Excel, SQL, or BI tools).
- Demonstrated ability to optimize routes, carrier contract negotiation, and capacity planning.
- Strong leadership and people management skills; ability to coach and develop team.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance (FMCSA, DOT) and environmental considerations.
