Skempton Construction Corporation is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our growing finance team in Metro Manila. As our Accountant, you will partner with project managers and operations to ensure accurate cost tracking, timely month-end close, and robust internal controls. You will manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, reconcile bank statements, and support payroll processing. You will also assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, tax filings, and audits to ensure adherence to Philippine accounting standards and BIR requirements.

Responsibility
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate month-end close and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor and customer reconciliations.
- Perform bank reconciliations, cash forecasting, and treasury support.
- Support project costing and job profitability analysis to monitor project performance.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and regulatory reporting (BIR, VAT, withholding taxes).
- Assist with payroll processing, payroll deductions, and payroll reporting.
- Prepare management reports, variance analysis, and support internal and external audits.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
- Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience; construction industry experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine accounting standards and tax regulations (BIR, VAT).
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities; able to collaborate with project teams and management.
- Ability to handle confidential information and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
