HarborPoint Financial is seeking a detail-driven Senior Accountant to join our NYC finance team. In this pivotal role, you will manage month end close, prepare comprehensive financial statements, and support audits with a focus on accuracy and internal controls.
As a member of our accounting team, you will collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure GAAP compliance and timely reporting for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
Responsibility
- Lead month-end close process and prepare accurate financial statements in a timely manner.
- Manage general ledger, account reconciliations, and intercompany activity.
- Coordinate and prepare quarterly and annual close requirements for external audits.
- Monitor internal controls, SOX compliance, and process improvements.
- Assist with variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Support tax planning and regulatory reporting as needed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize financial processes and ERP data integrity.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience in mid to large size organizations.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls; experience with SOX compliance.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel; experience with SAP, Oracle, or Workday.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting for external stakeholders.
