Private Advertiser is actively seeking an experienced Accounting Officer to join our finance team in Pasig City, Metro Manila. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with BIR tax filing and day-to-day accounting operations, helping ensure accurate financial records and strict tax compliance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
As our Accounting Officer, you will manage end-to-end bookkeeping, prepare and file BIR tax returns, and support management with timely financial reporting. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to reconcile accounts, maintain the general ledger, and ensure compliance with Philippine tax laws and company policies. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of integrity.
Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate accounting records, processing journal entries, reconciling balances, assisting with monthly closing, preparing financial statements, and coordinating with external auditors and the Bureau of Internal Revenue as needed. The successful candidate will be proficient in accounting software, comfortable with MS Excel, and able to translate financial information into clear, actionable insights for management. Responsibility
- Prepare, review, and file BIR tax returns (e.g. VAT and withholding taxes) and ensure timely submission.
- Maintain general ledger and perform accurate journal entries; reconcile accounts on a monthly basis.
- Prepare monthly closings and financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) for management review.
- Coordinate with auditors and BIR officials during tax audits and inquiries.
- Monitor accounts receivable/payable, manage cash flow, and assist with budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal controls; implement process improvements.
- Utilize accounting software and Excel to analyze trends, generate reports, and support decision-making.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
- 2-5 years of hands-on accounting and taxation experience, especially with BIR filings.
- Solid knowledge of Philippine tax laws and tax compliance processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- On-site in Pasig City; able to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
