Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Executive with a strong focus on the General Ledger to join Trust Recruit’s finance team. In this role, you will manage the full set of accounts (AR, AP, GL), deliver accurate financial reporting, and ensure timely month-end closings while maintaining strict compliance with statutory requirements in Malaysia. What you’ll do
As the Accounts Executive, you will support the integrity of financial data, support audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a smooth accounting workflow. You will be pivotal in maintaining accurate ledgers, improving reporting timeliness, and upholding internal controls that support the business’ strategic goals.
Responsibility
- Manage full set of accounts (AR, AP, GL) with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring data integrity across books.
- Prepare and review monthly management reports and financial statements for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Perform comprehensive account reconciliations, investigate variances, and maintain detailed schedules (receivables, payables, cash, intercompany).
- Coordinate and execute the month-end close process, supporting year-end close activities as needed.
- Maintain fixed asset register, depreciation calculations, and asset movement tracking.
- Ensure statutory compliance and timely tax filings, liaising with tax authorities and auditors as required.
- Support internal controls, assist with internal/external audits, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors and customers to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely settlements, contributing to healthy cash flow.
Qualification
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications (ACCA/CIMA) are a plus.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in AR, AP, GL, and month-end close in a Malaysian company.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, data analysis).
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with audits and internal controls; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
