Job description
Nova Analytics Group is seeking a results-driven Applied Statistics Analyst to join our Boston analytics team. This role focuses on turning data into strategic insights through rigorous statistical methods, strong communication, and collaborative problem solving.
As part of a cross-functional team, you will design experiments, build predictive models, and provide data-driven guidance to product, marketing, and operations teams. You will own the end-to-end analytics workflow from data acquisition to modeling and reporting, ensuring reproducibility and scalability.
Responsibility
- Design, analyze, and interpret experiments to inform product, marketing, and operations decisions.
- Develop predictive models (regression, classification, time-series) and validate them with diagnostics.
- Lead study design, sample size calculations, and power analyses to ensure robust findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into statistical solutions.
- Communicate complex results to non-technical stakeholders through clear visuals and executive-friendly reports.
- Maintain reproducible data pipelines and documentation using R/Python, SQL, and version control.
Qualification
- Master's or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in probability, experimental design, and statistical modeling.
- Proficiency in R and Python (pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels) and SQL.
- Experience with Bayesian methods and modern machine learning approaches is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with data visualization tools (ggplot2, matplotlib, Tableau) preferred.
