Job description
We’re seeking an enthusiastic Archaeologist to join our multidisciplinary team in London. You’ll contribute to field investigations, artifact documentation, and post-excavation analysis across urban and semi-rural sites. This role blends fieldwork, lab analysis, and reporting to deliver high-quality outputs for clients and researchers.

Responsibility
- Plan and conduct archaeological surveys and excavations in compliance with applicable legislation and best practices.
- Supervise field crews, ensure health and safety standards, and maintain accurate field notes and site records.
- Document artifacts through measurement, photography, and context recording; manage sampling and bagging procedures.
- Coordinate post-excavation analysis including processing finds, conservation, and laboratory workflows.
- Prepare accurate specialist reports, progress updates, and final site reports for clients and authorities.
- Contribute to GIS mapping, data collection, and stratigraphic interpretation.
- Engage with stakeholders, researchers, and communities; contribute to outreach and dissemination activities.
- Support proposal development and project planning to secure funding and keep projects on schedule.
Qualification
- B.A./B.Sc. in Archaeology or related field; M.A./MSc preferred
- 2+ years of field experience in commercial or academic archaeology
- Experience with excavation techniques, stratigraphy, recording standards, and finds processing
- Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) and data management; comfortable with digital field notebooks
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to produce concise reports
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions; valid driver’s license may be required
- Commitment to health and safety and adherence to ethics and professional standards
- Eligibility to work in the UK; willingness to travel for fieldwork
