Responsibility
- Conduct archaeological field surveys and excavations in collaboration with senior staff.
- Document stratigraphy, context, and finds using standardized recording practices and digital data capture.
- Process, catalog, and conserve artifacts in the field lab or on-site facilities.
- Prepare site reports, environmental assessments, and public-facing summaries for stakeholders.
- Manage safety, equipment, and logistics for field projects.
- Coordinate with museums, universities, and volunteers; supervise interns and trainees.
- Assist with GIS mapping, data analysis, and project planning to inform interpretation and publication.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 2+ years of field excavation experience; maritime or urban archaeology experience is a plus.
- Experience with stratigraphic recording, artifact curation, and basic conservation techniques.
- Proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS) and data management.
- Knowledge of CRM standards, ethics, and cultural resource management regulations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.
- Physical ability for outdoor fieldwork and valid driver's license; willingness to travel as required.
