Responsibility

  • Conduct archaeological surveys and controlled excavations following approved methodologies and safety standards.
  • Assist with site mapping, context recording, artifact collection, and stratigraphic documentation.
  • Operate and maintain field equipment, GPS/GIS data capture, total station, and digital field notebooks.
  • Coordinate with custodians, project managers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with permits.
  • Prepare daily field notes and preliminary site reports; support lab processing with documentation.
  • Participate in artifact cataloging, conservation prep, and laboratory data entry.
  • Contribute to data QA/QC and final reporting for project deliverables.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field (or current enrollment with relevant field experience).
  • 1-3 years of fieldwork experience on archaeological projects; CRM experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GIS, GPS, total stations, and field recording software.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and perform strenuous field tasks.
