We are seeking a motivated Archaeology Field Technician to contribute to excavations, survey work, artifact recording, and stakeholder communication. Responsibility
- Plan and conduct archaeological field surveys, excavations, and site documentation in accordance with CRM standards.
- Record contextual data using field notes, forms, GPS, and total station equipment.
- Manage artifact handling, labeling, and on-site conservation planning.
- Collaborate with project teams to interpret findings and prepare preliminary reports.
- Maintain health and safety, environmental guidelines, and site security.
- Assist in lab processing, cataloging, and conservation planning for recovered materials.
- Prepare final summaries and support grant reporting and academic publications.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 1-3 years of field experience in CRM or academic archaeology.
- Proficient in field recording, GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS), GPS mapping, and data management.
- Experience with artifact handling, conservation processes, and laboratory processing.
- Strong writing and communication skills; ability to prepare site reports and presentations.
- Physical fitness for digging, lifting, and outdoor work; ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license; willingness to travel and work irregular hours.
