Apex Valuation & Advisory, a leading provider of asset valuation solutions, is seeking a driven Asset Valuation Analyst to join our New York City team. This role offers exposure to complex valuations across real estate, equipment, intangibles, and business interests, with significant client contact and impact on strategic decisions.

In this position, you will apply contemporary valuation methodologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deliver high-quality valuation reports that adhere to IVS, IFRS 13, and ASC 820 standards.

Responsibility

  • Conduct independent asset valuations across real estate, machinery/equipment, intangibles, and business interests using DCF, market comparables, and cost approaches.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models, including scenarios, sensitivity analyses, and valuation reserves.
  • Prepare valuation reports and client-ready presentations aligned with applicable standards (IVS, IFRS 13, ASC 820).
  • Analyze market data, benchmark assets, and monitor market conditions affecting valuations.
  • Collaborate with risk, accounting, tax, and M&A teams to support transactions and strategic decisions.
  • Assist in engagement scoping, proposal development, project management, and timely delivery of outputs.
  • Ensure data quality, source validation, documentation, and audit trails for all valuation work.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (Master's or CFA/ASA preferred).
  • 3-6 years of valuation experience across asset classes; real estate or equipment valuations a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of valuation methodologies (DCF, multiples, cost approach) and standards (IVS, IFRS 13, ASC 820).
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial modeling; coding (Python/R) a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills; ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
  • Professional certifications (CFA, ASA, CCIV) preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management and client service orientation.
