PrimeVal Asset Valuation, a leading provider of independent asset valuations, is seeking an experienced Asset Valuation Analyst to join our New York City team. This role delivers rigorous valuation work across tangible and intangible assets, including real estate, equipment, intellectual property, and portfolio companies. The ideal candidate combines strong financial modeling with practical valuation standards knowledge and excellent client communication.
What you will do:
- Perform detailed valuation analyses for diverse asset classes using DCF, market comparables, cost approaches, and option pricing where applicable.
- Develop and validate robust valuation models in Excel and, when needed, Python or R for data-driven insight.
- Prepare high-quality valuation reports in accordance with IFRS 13, ASC 820 and relevant regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with clients, data providers, and internal teams to gather inputs, assumptions, and risk assessments.
- Lead engagements, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables meet quality and regulatory requirements.
- Present findings to clients and management, translating complex concepts into actionable recommendations.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to firm-wide knowledge sharing and methodology enhancements.
Responsibility
- Lead valuation engagements for a portfolio of real estate, equipment, IP, and business assets.
- Build and critique discounted cash flow and market-based valuation models.
- Prepare valuation reports ensuring alignment with IFRS, GAAP and internal methodologies.
- Coordinate data collection, perform data validation, and manage client communications.
- Present complex results to non-technical stakeholders and support strategic decision making.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to knowledge management.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of asset valuation or corporate finance experience across real estate, equipment, and intangible assets.
- Strong financial modeling skills in Excel; experience with Python or R is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS 13, GAAP, ASC 820 and professional valuation standards (e.g., ASA, CFA, CBV is a plus).
- Excellent analytical, writing, and client-facing communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements with tight deadlines and high attention to detail.
- Professional credentials such as CFA, ASA, AVA or CBV are advantageous.
