We are seeking a highly analytical Asset Valuation Analyst to join our premier financial services team in New York City. This role focuses on independent valuation of tangible and intangible assets, including portfolio holdings, real estate, IP, and business interests. You will collaborate with investment teams, risk management, and accounting to deliver accurate, decision-grade valuations and actionable market insights.
In this role, you will develop and maintain valuation models, validate data quality, and present findings to senior leadership. You will contribute to due diligence for transactions and support ongoing asset monitoring.
Responsibility
- Develop and maintain robust asset valuation models (DCF, market comparables, cost approach) for diverse asset classes.
- Prepare comprehensive valuation reports and client-ready presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze market data, macroeconomic trends, and industry fundamentals to support valuation conclusions.
- Validate data quality, reconcile financial metrics, and ensure alignment with GAAP/IFRS and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with investment teams, risk management, and accounting to drive valuation insights and decision-making.
- Manage data gathering, cleaning, and maintenance of valuation databases and models.
- Support due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, and portfolio restructuring with rigorous asset-by-asset analysis.
- Deliver ad hoc analyses and valuation scenarios to inform strategic planning.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; MBA, CFA (or equivalent) preferred.
- 3-6 years of hands-on asset valuation, financial modeling, or valuation advisory experience in financial services.
- Strong proficiency with Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VBA) and data analysis tools; experience with Python or R is a plus.
- Experience with valuation methodologies (DCF, multiples, real estate via cost approach, and asset-level analyses) and valuation software (Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Argus, etc.).
- Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
