Job description

EquiValue Partners is seeking a seasoned Asset Valuation Analyst to join our New York City team. This role blends rigorous financial modeling with strategic advisory on tangible and intangible assets to support investment decisions, regulatory reporting, and client engagements across industries.

You will lead independent valuations, develop robust valuation models, and contribute to due diligence and transaction advisory. Our collaborative environment empowers you to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and external clients.

Responsibility

  • Lead and deliver comprehensive valuations for tangible and intangible assets (real estate, equipment, licenses, brands, IP) in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Build, maintain, and validate valuation models using multiple approaches (DCF, market, cost) and conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses.
  • Collect and analyze financial data, market trends, and transactional information to ensure data integrity and robust conclusions.
  • Prepare detailed valuation reports for internal stakeholders and clients, articulating methodologies, assumptions, and recommendations.
  • Support M&A activity, financial reporting, regulatory submissions, and post-transaction value tracking through ongoing monitoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, tax, risk) to deliver client-ready solutions and respond to queries.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and evolving valuation standards; participate in model validation and quality control processes.
  • Present findings to senior leadership and client audiences, translating complex valuation concepts into practical business insights.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; CFA/ASA/AVS designation preferred.
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience in asset valuation, financial modeling, or corporate finance; expertise in real estate and intangible asset valuations is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills (including modeling, data analysis, and scenario planning); experience with VBA; familiarity with Python or R is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP valuation standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Analytical mindset with exceptional numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; proven ability to prepare client-ready reports and present complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams; proven project management and client-facing experience.
  • Professional certifications (CFA, CPA, ASA) are highly regarded.
