Harborcrest Analytics is seeking a detail-oriented Asset Valuation Specialist to join our NYC-based team. In this role, you will lead complex valuation engagements for real assets, businesses, and intangible assets, delivering rigorous, presentation-ready reports to clients and stakeholders.
As part of our valuation practice, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage advanced financial models, and ensure compliance with IFRS and GAAP standards. Responsibility
- Lead and manage asset valuation engagements across real estate, businesses, and intangible assets, applying DCF, comparables, cost, and other methodologies.
- Develop robust financial models in Excel and scripting tools; maintain model documentation and version control.
- Prepare detailed valuation reports with clear methodologies, assumptions, limitations, and sensitivities for clients and auditors.
- Coordinate data collection with clients, appraisers, data vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate inputs.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and professional standards; exercise professional skepticism and quality control.
- Present findings to clients and stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable insights.
- Mentor junior analysts, review work products, and contribute to internal knowledge base and process improvements.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; CFA/ASA/ABV designation a plus.
- 5+ years of asset valuation experience across real estate, businesses, or intangibles.
- Advanced financial modeling proficiency (DCF, comps, LBO) and strong Excel skills; experience with Python or R is a plus.
- Solid understanding of IFRS and GAAP as applied to valuation; ability to document and defend methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; client-facing experience preferred.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple engagements concurrently.
- Proficiency with valuation software (e.g., Argus, ValueX) and data sources; willingness to learn new tools.
