Responsibility
- Lead analysis of observational data from ground based telescopes and survey data
- Develop pipelines for data calibration, reduction, and visualization
- Collaborate with international teams on research projects and publications
- Design and run simulations to compare with observational results
- Contribute to instrument development and performance optimization
- Mentor students and interns; present findings at conferences
- Write and defend research proposals and contribute to grant applications
Qualification
- PhD in Astronomy, Astrophysics, or a closely related field; or MSc with substantial research experience
- Strong programming skills (Python preferred; experience with Astropy and data analysis)
- Experience with data reduction pipelines, astrometry, photometry
- Familiarity with statistical methods and machine learning techniques
- Experience with telescope time management and data management
- Excellent written and spoken English; ability to communicate with international teams
- Publications in peer reviewed journals and ability to present at conferences
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team
