We are seeking a driven Astronomy Research Scientist to lead data-driven investigations across observational campaigns and theoretical simulations. You will collaborate with engineers, telescope operators, and physicists to transform complex datasets into publishable insights that advance our understanding of the universe.

Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end analysis of astronomical observations from ground-based and space-based telescopes, including data reduction, calibration, and quality control.
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, Astropy, NumPy, and SQL to support real-time data processing.
- Collaborate with astronomers to design experiments, propose observing programs, and interpret results in the context of current theories.
- Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences; contribute to grant proposals and program development.
- Mentor junior data scientists and students; contribute to code reviews and reproducible analysis practices.
- Contribute to instrument development and data management strategies to enhance future campaigns.
Qualification
- Master's or PhD in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with astronomical data analysis, preferably with telescope data.
- Proficiency in Python (Astropy, NumPy, SciPy), data visualization (Matplotlib, Plotly), and SQL.
- Experience with high-performance computing, Linux environments, and version control (Git).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and contribute to grant-writing initiatives.
