MotorWorks Precision Auto is seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our Detroit team. This role offers hands on work in a fast paced shop that values craftsmanship and safety.
As an Automotive Mechanic you will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and maintain vehicles to the highest standards using modern diagnostic tools and equipment. You will collaborate with service advisors to ensure accurate repair planning and timely vehicle return to customers.

Responsibility
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment and test drives
- Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Repair engines, transmissions, braking, steering, and suspension components
- Repair or replace faulty parts while ensuring proper torque specs and manufacturer guidelines
- Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Document repairs in service logs and communicate findings to customers
- Adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area
Qualification
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an automotive mechanic or technician
- ASE certification is preferred; EPA and safety certifications are a plus
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, and HVAC
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and customer service skills
- Valid driver license and clean driving record
- Willingness to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
